“Ever had one of those relationships that stuck with you for years after it was over? Well, I have. So when I started reading Rebecca Hathaway’s story, I could immediately identify with her. (It doesn’t hurt, of course, that she shares my name! Haha!) But she was a really identifiable heroine.
I loved the fact that it was a plot I hadn’t seen before, and that the characters felt real and interesting. I really enjoyed the progression of the relationship, and love story.
The contemporary romance genre is one that I’m learning to really love. This story has all the elements of a great contemporary romance: interesting plot, hunky gamma hero, sexually-aware heroine, plucky secondary characters, and a great hook. Clarissa Yip is a promising writer and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work in the future. Also, Decadent Publishing, as a new house, has impressed me with the quality of their stories so far. Looking forward to seeing more of their work, as well.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sweet reunion story.
I really enjoyed Love by Auction. I liked the characters, and I liked the way that the author wrote the deception into the story. The growth of the female character was well done and believeable, and it was nice to see that the hero had a conscience, even after a wild night.
Really great read!

“Love by Auction is a wonderful contemporary book with heartfelt emotion. This was about a reunion love story between Rebecca Hathaway and Mark Passmore to reconnect their romance, despite their flaws and status among high society.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Clarissa Yip writes an intriguing story about a woman who wants to prove that she is more than just a snobby socialite behind her tea parties and book clubs. I found myself sympathizing and rooting for her character at the same time. The story building was well-written in this short novel. It had just the right blend of sexual tension, conflict, exciting plot and real characters to keep the pages turning.
If you enjoy a book with intricate storyline and steamy passion, escape into this romantic adventure. The ending heats up to a satisfying resolution. This book is well worth the read if you haven’t picked it up.”

Rebecca Hathaway let her friend Erin talk her into participating in a charity auction. She was raised by a mother who constantly groomed her for high society. Rebecca wasn’t allowed to do anything and she appeared to be non-feeling. That is the reason the man of her dreams had broken up with her three years ago. He thought she had love only for book clubs and tea parties. He wanted more.
Mark Passmore came to this auction with Rebecca’s brother. He had no intention of bidding on a woman until he saw The Ice Princess. He didn’t know it was Rebecca. Even when she left his apartment in the middle of the night, he had no idea who she was. He wished this woman and Rebecca were combined into his perfect partner.
This is a very interesting quick read by an author who is new to me, Clarissa Yip. I like her writing style. Her characterizations were very realistic and entertaining. She made this reader identify with her characters by making them realistic, emotionally-charged and witty. The sensuality was high—the sexual encounters hot.
This storyline flowed so that there never seemed any lull in the manuscript. I was constantly turning the pages so as not to miss anything. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great romance with blazing passages. I will certainly look for this author in the future.

Review: Cute, hot and just what I expected. While a couple times I wanted to smack Rebecca for being so prim and proper, my heart ached for her and the expectations that her life and mother had put on her. To be the perfect daughter, hostess and eventually wife. She yearns to break free and be her own woman. Thank God she finally does.
All in all it was a good read and one that I would recommend
